What is a Sportive?

Sportives are mass-participation timed events, they allow cyclists of all abilities to ride fully signposted routes. A sportive is not a race! Sportives could be likened to the marathons of the cycling world; for example the Ride London event in the UK drew many parallels to the famous London Marathon. It's the taking part that counts, not the fastest time.

Sportives can be a great way of setting a season goal, and with distances for all abilities there is something for everyone.

Sportives normally start and finish in the same place; this creates a great atmosphere, but also makes it far easier logistically for riders and organisers; you can just turn up to an entirely new place and ride some fantastic new roads.

Although all our rides are non competitive events (i.e. not races), most people still like to know how well they've done. With this in mind we will time each participants ride. When you cross the finish line you will be able to print out your time and position , full results will be displayed on this page soon after the event. Of course, some riders aren't bothered about all these awards and just cycle for the experience and stunning scenery.

Feed Stations

We will have feed stations on the route, the location of these along with final details will be available in the event manual which will be available 1-2 weeks before the event.

Cycling is a fantastic fun activity for children that can encourage independence, socialising and confidence building, Fully catered and way-marked events are a fantastic way to introduce children to cycling, encourage their independence and increase confidence.
You know your own ability levels and those of your children and are in the best position to decide if they can tackle a ride.

Under 16s must ride with a fee paying adult and over 17 year olds can ride independently providing we have signed consent from a parent or guardian at the event centre.

All children must ride with an adult entered into the same event.

We are always in need of marshals on the course so if there are any partners or friends out there that are willing to help please get in touch with us and you will be rewarded with a Free entry to an event of your choice (this can be transferred to another person) . Telephone 07548 545946 or

The event is open to anybody over the age of 15 (13 if accompanied by an adult)

You will also be able to purchase light refreshments at the event from our sponsors the wolf Hut.
